Virtual Workshop: Reimagining Lower Manhattan’s Public Waterfront for the 21st Century
On March 23rd, MOCR and EDC convened a workshop on Reimagining Lower Manhattan’s Public Waterfront for the 21st Century. This workshop facilitated a conversation between the project team and key stakeholders, representing groups interested in the future of Lower Manhattan’s public waterfront, to discuss topics such as urban design, open space, transportation, circulation, and more. The relationship between urban design and coastal defense was examined, as well as the transformative opportunities that accompany this kind of long-term infrastructure planning. Participants learned more about our project through an urban design lens, shared feedback, and helped create a shared vision for Lower Manhattan’s climate-resilient future.
